Through thick and thin, true love seems to have a way of beating the odds and overcoming the most ridiculous of obstacles, a saying that could not hold more true than for Jake and Kelsey. Due to his advanced military training and education, over the last year and a half, the two have only been able to spend a total of five weeks with each other. Even when Jake is scheduled to come home, his request may be denied at a moment's notice. For many couples, the stress, anxiety and lonliness would have proved to be too great to endure such a prolonged bout of separation, but for Jake and Kelsey, this is merely a bump in the road.
Kelsey and Jake's story first started eight years ago when the two were introduced by mutual friends at Buffalo Wild Wings. They didn't talk much during their first meeting, and although Kelsey took Jake's breath away, he sat back and watched the strike one. Fate would give them a second meet-cute a few nights later at a local dance club. They shared some laughs and even a couple dances, but once again, the shyness in Jake left him at strike two. Fortunately, it's never over until it's over, and a few weeks later at the College World Series, Jake spied Kelsey working at the bar. After a few deep breaths, Jake walked over asked for her number. There's nothing worse than a backward K, and there's nothing better than hitting a homerun with two strikes on the board. Going against all odds - Jake and Kelsey.
