After looking back on it, Gene and Erin's wedding went about as smoothly as a wedding could possibly go. It helped, of course, that both Gene and Erin have such easy-going personalities, but as unpredictable as Omaha's weather can sometimes be, it was nice to be able to go outside for a bit and not have to worry about a random thunderstorm or (heaven-forbit!) snow. An hour before the ceremony, I remember walking to the back room where Gene and the rest of the groomsmen were stowed away and just being so surprised by how calm everyone was. Weddings, especially from my perspective, can be incredibly stressful events, but it was nice to be able to breathe easy throughout the entire day. Perhaps my good fortune was because Erin works at the H.D. Zoo! WOO-HOOO! Although Gene is about to once again be deployed, it was great to have everyone together to celebrate this awesome event. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Scrivner, and I was thrilled to be part of your day!
