The word 'Serendipity' was once voted one of the 10 hardest words to literally translate. Google-ing the word, you'll come up with a hodge-podge of terribly unclear definitions ranging from 'a happy accident' to 'good fortune'. Inspired by the 2001 movie featuring John Cusak and Kate Beckinsale (if you haven't seen it, watch it tonight!), the Ryan Yamada dictionary reads:
serendipity (n): a series of unrelated events, strung together by an unseen hand that results in a bringing together of two people; an act that can only be described as fate
Kirk and Chelsi's love story could be described as serendipitous. They first were in a college class together - a class that Kirk eventually dropped out of. Separated for a few moments, Kirk then began to notice a beautiful brunette with an infectious smile at his credit union. After depositing checks and using the Coinstar machine at least twice a day, he finally got the courage to ask her out. Zipping up his man pants, he confidently strutted into the credit union on that fine day only to find out... she no longer worked there!
Kirk was devestated.
But do not be so hasty to rule out the ambition of our heroic Captain Kirk! Using the interweb, Kirk searched tirelessly day and night until finally, he came upon Chelsi's facebook page. Thanks be to Zuckerberg. Using his boyish charm and manly physique, Chelsi had no choice but to fall instantly. The rest, as they say, is history. Kirk and Chelsi really enjoy riding bikes together, and part 1 of their 'engagement' shoot was in their street-bike attire. Warmer weather will bring about part 2 so stay tuned!
